PCB bans Umar Akmal under anti-corruption code

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) suspended Umar Akmal under Article 4.7.1 of anti-corruption code.

Earlier this month, 29-years batsman appeared in a skin fold test at the National Cricket Academy Lahore and there after the failure in fitness test he misbehaved with a staff member. His elder brother Kamran Akmal defended his action by saying that all of this is nothing more than a misunderstanding.
According to PCB statement Umar Akmal did not face any sanction; it is just a warning and reminder of responsibilities as a senior cricketer to him. Nothing about the nature of the offence and the duration of the suspension had been revealed by PCB.
Suspension of the batsman mean that he will not take part in any cricket related activity, so he is no more the part of Quetta Gladiators in PSL starting on Thursday against Islamabad United.
Anwar Ali, a 32-years old allrounder has been selected by Quetta Gladiators in place of Umar Akmal. From 2008-2016 Anwar Ali appeared in 16 T20Is and 22 ODIs for Pakistan. He was also a constant part of Quetta team in all PSL series. In his 32 appearance he succeeded to take 23 wickets and scored 191 runs.
