Pakistan observes Defence Day as Kashmir Solidarity Day



ISLAMABAD: As Kashmiri individuals keep on enduring under a month-long lockdown forced by the Indian powers following the nullification of Article 370 that finished held Kashmir's unique status cherished in its constitution, Pakistan watches the Defense and Martyrs Day today as Kashmir Solidarity Day. 

Today denotes the 54th commemoration of 1965 Pakistan-India war when Pakistan Army effectively guarded the nation against a multi-pronged Indian assault on the eastern fringe. This year, the Defense Day is being seen to pay tribute to the nation's saints and to reaffirm responsibility to protecting Pakistan against all dangers. 


The day started with a 31-firearm salute in the government capital and 21-weapon salutes in the common capitals. Exceptional supplications were likewise offered after Fajr petitions for the autonomy of involved Kashmir just as for the advancement and flourishing of Pakistan, Radio Pakistan revealed. 

The primary function for Defense Day is as of now being held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawal­pindi, where Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa laid a wreath at the Martyrs Monument and watched a watchman of respect.



While tending to the function, General Bajwa determinedly expressed that "military have not and won't cease from any penance for the safeguard of the country."

General Bajwa called attention to that Pakistan enlisted "unparallel victories" in its war against outside state-supported fear based oppression. 

"Our fighters stood like a stone divider in the war against fear based oppressors and thwarted the terrible structures of the foe. They yielded their present for our future."
