It had been planned that team South Africa will visit Pakistan in March for a series of three Twenty20 internationals soon after the completion of Pakistan Super League but both Cricket South Africa (CSA) and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) agreed to postpone that planned series due to busy committed schedule of team South Africa.
In March England team
will visit South Africa and both teams will play four Tests and three T20
internationals followed by a series of three T20 internationals and three
one-day international against Australia which will end on 7th March.
During PSL, team South
Africa will visit India where they will play three one-day internationals
starting from 12th march, after that team South Africa is also committed to the
Indian Premier League starts from 28th March. It seems that’s Pakistan’s
tour will squeeze between these two event schedules in March.
The acting chief
executive of CSA Jacques Faul clarify that the only reason to postpone the tour
of South Africa team to Pakistan is the extreme busy schedule of team South
Africa rather than the security concerns
by saying
“This has been done purely because of the
heavy workload and international schedule our players are facing in the
immediate future. I have assured my counterpart at the PCB, Wasim khan that the
tour remain very much on out international schedule”
Jacques Faul added “I
would also like to stress that security was not an issue in asking the PCB for
this postponement”
