Hectic travelling schedule of Quetta Gladiators results in poor performance of Defending Champions: Nadeem Qamar franchise owner

Quetta Gladiators franchise believes that so far dismal performance of defending Champions in PSL-5 is due to their tiring travel schedule.

Nadeem Qamar owner of Gladiators said,” we have no home ground alright but a temporary home ground could have been allocated to keep the team at one of the host cities of Karachi, Lahore, Multan or Rawalpindi for a longer period. “

Up till now in PSL 2020 the Defending Champion played 8 matches and registered only 3 victories. Currently Gladiators are at the bottom of the ranking table.

1^st three matches of Quetta Gladiators were played in Karachi from which defending champions picked up 2 victories. Gladiators won their 4^th match of PSL against Islamabad United in Rawalpindi. Their next three matches were scheduled in Multan, Lahore and Rawalpindi against Multan Sultans, Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi respectively.

Today Quetta Gladiators will face the table topper Multan Sultans at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore and on 15^th March at National Stadium Karachi they will face Karachi Kings.

Nadeem Qamar said while expressing about current performance of Gladiators ,” Frequent travel, insufficient rest and practice opportunities have reflected on the team’s performance which was better in the first phase when it was in Karachi.”

According to Nadeem Shan initially they thought that every team will face the same schedule situation but later they realized that their team suffered a lot as in last 12 days their team spent hours on airports and they have got no chance for practice sessions.

PCB officials declared that a lot of reasonable issues resulted in this tough schedule of Gladiators like availability of Venues, aircraft tickets, accommodation and many other logistical issues. PCB officials said that PCB is tring to manage the situation in best possible manner and the Gladiators concerns were not dismissed.

The owner of Quetta Gladiators franchise make it clear to Gladiators fans that they are not making excuses and they are still fighting and with the prayers of Gladiators fans and hard work of team Quetta Gladiators will raise.
