Pakistan Hockey Federation forwarded an online workout plan for players to keep them fit during this lockdown situation due to coronavirus pandemic.

coach of Pakistan hockey team is satisfied with the player’s response towards
online workout plan.
Khawaja Junaid told
that workout plan focused on three aspects of training. First concern of this
plan is to control the diet of players. Players are told to avoid foods which
increase fat level and to control their diet.
Workout plan focused on
physical activities of players. Under the umbrella of physical activities
muscles strengthening exercises like sit-ups, push-ups, body squats, yoga,
light weight training and cardiovascular exercises like skipping, shuttle
running and repeatedly climbing stairs up and down at home have been designed. All
these exercises are easily practicable in a confined area.
Third focus of this
workout plan is skill exercise of player to make their game better. Basic grey
areas of game are pointed and players are told how to work on them during this
lockdown period.
Khawaja junaid told
App,” As a coach it is very encouraging for me that the players are following
the workout plan with utmost commitment and dedication. The lockdown period is
very difficult for everyone. Our players have also never gone through such a
situation but their attitude is very positive and they are bracing this
situation quite nicely.”

Junaid told that if situation does not get normalize uptill 20 April then we
are aimed to start regular online education system for players by sending them
video clips and players will be required to comment on these clips.
In this online
education system players will read hockey as a subject and they will learn
about many things like structures of world’s best outfits such as the
Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Australia.
He told that players are
regularly sending their videos regarding workout plan and we judge their videos
and discussed their performance with
president of the Pakistan Hockey Federation retired Brig Khalid Sajjad Khokhar
and secretary Asif Bajwa.
