PCB: Quetta made no official complaint of ball-tempering against Peshawar Zalmi

Quetta Gladiators failed to make formal complaint of ball- tempering against Peshawar Zalmi confirmed by PCB.

According to PCB there is a formal procedure to file the complaint. “Rep 1” forms should be used to submit complete report of complaint and report should be properly dated and signed by the one who is submitting the complaint. All this procedure should be completed within 48 hours after the conclusion of the game.

Sarfaraz Ahmed captain of Quetta Gladiators expressed his views on Saturday after the conclusion of the match between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiatos by saying that they believed that Zalmi’s altered the condition of the ball and the matter was taken to match empire and PCB by Gladiators.

Sarfaraz said that PCB refused what gladiators supposed as ball-tampering by Peshawar. According to the team manager Nabeel Hashmi they followed the proper procedure to make the complaint.

PCB pointed out that evaluation forms were used by Gladiators for their complaint which is not the right way to submit complaint more over PCB also confirmed from match referee Roshan Mahanama that he had not received any official complaint from Quetta Gladiators against Peshawar Zalmi.

PCB made clear that Sarfaraz public comment will never be consider as an official complaint

Wasim Khan, PCB CEO said, “We are aware that a statement on changing the condition of the ball has been made without providing any concrete evidence or lodging a formal complaint through the correctly stated procedure. In this case, this should have been submitted to the match referee by 6pm on Monday, 24 February. Such irresponsible statements without formal follow-up will only affect the integrity of the event and cast doubts on international cricketers, and, as such, I request the players to use caution and show responsibility.”
