First time in the history of PSL Multan is going to host any PSL match.
After Lahore and
Karachi Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2020 is moving towards Multan and
Rawalpindi. Up till now seven matches of PSL 2020 have been played from which
four matches have been played in National Stadium Karachi and three matches
have been played in Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.
Today on 26th
February 2020 Multan will host eighth match of PSL 2020 which will be the
encounter of Multan Sultans and Peshawar Zalmi.
Previously Peshawar
Zalmi participated in all PSL seasons from which two times in 2018 and 2019 Peshawar Zalmi became runner up while in 2017
Peshawar Zalmi won the PSL and in 1st season of PSL in 2016 Peshawar
Zalmi got third position. For Multan Sultans this is their third time to
participate in PSL. In 2018 they first
time participate in Pakistan Super League.
Up till now both
teams successfully scored two points each. Both teams played two matches each.
Peshawar Zalmi defeat Quetta Gladiators in their second match while they lost
their 1st match against Karachi Kings. On the other hand Multan Sultans
was beaten by Islamabad United by eight wickets while they won their match
against Lahore Qalandars.
Zalmi team is a perfect
blend of young and experience, national and international players. Team
includes Carlos Brathwaite, Kieron Pollard, Laim Dawson, Shoaib Malik, Kamran
Akmal, Laim Livigstone, Tom Banton and Lewis Gregory. Peshawar Zalmi is lead by West Indies all
rounder and most popular cricketer for Pakistani cricket lovers Darren Sammy. They
also have fast bowler Wahab Riaz and Rahet Ali. Hasan Ali is also part of the
team. Imam-ul-Haq and Umar Amin are also providing their services to Peshawar
Zalmi.
Under the captaincy
of Shan Masood England alrounder Moean Ali, Ravi Bopara, James Vince and Rilee
Rossouw will provide their services to Multan Sultans. They also have
off-spinner Wayne Madsen and leg-spinner Imran Tahir. Pakistani players
Mohammad Irfan, Sohail Tanvir, Junaid Khan, Bilawal Bhatti , apinner Usman
Qadir and Zeeshan Ashraf and wicket keeper Rohail Nazir are the part of Multan
Sultans.
Cricket legend
and most wanted player in the field by Pakistani cricket lover BOOM BOOM Afridi
is also the part of Multan Sultans. Although Shahid Afridi has retired from
cricket but still he has a lot of fans and lovers and he has a lot to give.
Both teams are
equally strong and up till now both have equal scores in PSL 2020 tournament. It
will be a sensational match and people of Multan hope to see a good cricket in
their home ground.
