Strong partnership between Azam Khan and Sarfaraz Ahmed led Quetta Gladiators to their win against Karachi Kings.
Karachi Kings won the
toss and decided to bat first. They started their bating on a higher note but
kept on losing their wickets at regular intervals. However they manage to give
a target of 157 runs to Quetta Gladiators.
The first wicket of
Kings that fall was of Babar Azam at 26 off 23. Tymal Mills bowled out him. Soon
after him Mohammad Nawaz caught the wicket of Sharjeel Khan. After scoring 22
runs quickly on 12 balls through smashing around the ground Cameron Delport was
sent back to pavilion by Sohail Khan.
Mohammad Hasnain runs
out the Chris Walton and with that the fourth wicket of Kings felled. Alex
Hales was the fifth wicket of Kings caught by Gladiators.
Gladiators stared their
bating to chase the target of 157 runs to ensure their victory against Kings in
this Pakistan Super League (PSL) encounter. A time came when it seemed that
Gladiators became under pressure, when Imad Wasim run out Jason Roy at 17(20) and Ahmed Shehzad
went back to Pavilion due to his unneeded stroke.
Before that Australian
Batsman Shane Watson cheered up his fans with two huge sixes and two fours
before he went back to the Pavilion. In this crucial time Sarfaraz Ahmed along
with Azam Khan build a good partnership and put back the pressure on Kings.
Another turning point
came in the match when due to Sharfaraz’s fault Azam Khan was run out after scoring
46 off 30 balls. Although this wicket broke the partnership; but still it led
Gladiators towards victory against Karachi Kings by five wickets.
