Tokyo Olympics games are shifted to 2021 due pandemic situation and to accommodate these games in 2021 World Athletics decided to postpone 2021 World athletics championships to 2022.
Previously it was
scheduled that World athletics championship will take place in Eugene and
Oregon from 6th August to 15th August but now these games
will not held on those dates.
World Athletics said
that they support the decision of Japanese organizers and IOC regarding the announcement
of new date of Tokyo Olympic. According to them this decision of postponing of
games will provide the effective time to athletes they needed to return into
training and competition.
World Athletics are
working with organizers in Oregon to decide new dates for World Athletics
Championship and they are also in discussion with organizer of Common Wealth
Games which are currently scheduled to take place in Birmingham from 27th
July to 7th August 2022.
