There is no plan for
cancelation or to postpone the CPL Twenty20 cricket competition due to
coronavirus epidemic announced by Caribbean Premier League (CPL)
CPL was launched in 2013. This year
the schedule of CPL was from 19th August to 26th September.
Coronavirus pandemic affected
every field of human life including Sports. Sports grounds and stadiums got
empty and many important tournaments and Leagues were postponed. Tokyo Olympics
was postponed for one year. The T20 franchise event IPL has been postponed
until 15th April.
Caribbean Premier League official
did not announce any decision regarding cancelation of event of to postpone it.
According to CPL officials, “CPL
has been in constant
communication with our medical advisors in recent weeks, as well as speaking
with Cricket West Indies about the current situation with regard to cricket
around the world, and at present there has been no discussion about moving the
event.”
They believe that corona virus
is an emerging situation and we are carefully monitoring the whole situation
and how events are unfolding all around the world including Caribbean but right
now it is too early to decide anything.
