PCB and franchise owners meeting in Lahore The PCB made the final decision to postpone the Pakistan Super League (PSL) indefinitely after consultation with the franchise owners. The PCB has informed the broadcasting team about the decision. According to sources, a franchise did not want to play anymore due to the return of foreign players. According to a PCB statement, PSL 2020 has been postponed and the remaining matches will be played on new dates, but more details on the matter will be released later.
Before the Coronavirus, several foreign players and coaches in the PSL were flown back to their homeland to stop the flight operation. In addition, the number of spectators in the matches at PSL Five was very disappointing and the color of the event started to fade.
The board changed the PSL schedule to reduce the number of matches and changed the playoffs of the event to the semi-finals and finals. Then it was decided to hold the matches without spectators.
Semi-finals and finals of PSL Five were to take place at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. The first semi-final was between Multan Sultans and Peshawar Zalmi today while the second semi-final was between Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings. However, the event has now been announced. Experts and analysts have justified the board's decision. Multan Sultans top, Karachi Kings II, Lahore Qalandars third and Peshawar Zalmai were fourth on the points table in PSL5 contests so far.
